Creating a Campaign

After you have created your AdWords account, you should want to start creating your first campaign as soon as possible, which is really easy to do!  Choosing which type of campaign to work with initially can be confusing, so it is best to go with "Search Network Only."  Google is very helpful in each step of the process of setting up your campaign.  First select all features for your campaign.  A really awesome thing about Google is that it will allow you to select different locations around the world where your advertisement can be viewed.

While creating your advertising campaign can be fun and exciting, it is easy to spend too much money on advertisements up front.  When Google asks you about bidding, consider an auction.  How much are you willing to pay for someone to click your link?  If you have the highest bid, you might win against other people with similar AdWords and your link will be displayed.  However, if you have a lower bid compared to other campaigns, but better content on your page related to your AdWords, then you still might win against other campaigns. Remember you can always go in and removed ineffective AdWords and add new ones. If you don't want to run your add forever, you can always add an end date to your ad so it is no longer seen.

Your keywords are the lifeblood to your campaign, make sure you they are what people might commonly Google, find interesting, and pertain to information found on the page you are sending them to.

From my personal experience, it has been great to read about AdWords, but you will really learn a lot if you give yourself a small budget to start with and then start actually creating your own campaign!
