Google makes it super easy to track your traffic on your blog!  If you have not done so, you can create a Google account for free by going to mail.google.com and clicking "create account."  After you have created your account, create a free blogger account if you do not already have a blog.  You can do this by going to www.blogger.com and clicking create an account.  Here, you can sign in through your google account. You can name your blog in relation to what topics you plan on covering, as well as choosing a design template.  Play around with the tools to create your first blog post!  It is very easy, as all you have to do is select "new post," and start writing!  Once you are done writing, you can select "publish."  I highly recommend sharing your post to as many sites and channels as you can, as this will help increase the traffic to your blog.

Now go google.com/analytics.  Sign back in if you have not already.  If you are already signed in, you will see a button that says "access google analytics."  Under "admin" you are going to select "create new account" from the drop-down menu (the word "account" will be over this drop-down menu on the "admin" page). Next, follow the easy step-by-step instructions going down the page, starting with naming the account, followed by setting up the property.  I recommend leaving the "data sharing settings" checked as they are recommended through Google.  As you become more advanced, you can adjust these settings later.  Next, read and accept the terms of agreement to receive your tracking ID.   Find your tracking ID on the next page, and copy it down.  Now, go back to your blogger account and select "settings."  In the menu that arises under "settings," select "other." Once on this page, scroll down until you see "Google Analytics."  Enter your tracking ID here and save the settings.  When you go back to your Google Analytics page, you will see your blog.  When you have have traffic, you can go in and observe various reports and filter date ranges to see what information fits your needs.
